Giles Fretwell Aspire Event Manager
Giles is a key member of the events team at Aspire looking after numerous blue chip clients. Giles has expertise and knowledge in running a variety of events, his flair and creativity in theming and styling are second to none! He started his working life in catering at the age of 14, washing up in a local pub and at the time was too short to reach the bottom of the sink so he had to stand on a box. Giles then went on to work at the Boars Head Ripley throughout school and for a year following school, although he got the travelling bug and went to Australia for a year, nice!
On returning to the UK he secured a position at Playford Ros wine merchants where he started off picking orders and labelling bottles of wine! He was there for 5 years and worked in all departments while taking his WSET wine exams. From Playford free wine, normal hours and weekends off just got too much for Giles so he moved to outside catering company Taste Cuisine as an events manager, none normal hours, lots of weekends but still some free wine!
This family owned company allowed Giles to develop his skills in every aspect of event management from driving vans, building marquee kitchens, managing all type of events from 5 guests to 500 from dinners to BBQ’s and a lot of weddings!
Interests (getting to know Giles) Walking, climbing, camping, gigs and music
